Agassiz RCMP arrest man reportedly tied to vehicle theft, break-ins

Recent incidents prompted warning from residents

A handwritten sign on the wall of the Harrison Hot Springs Post Office warns of a “night time prowler” trying to break into cars.

The Agassiz RCMP received a few recent reports concerning theft-from-vehicle incidents in the Harrison area. Sgt. Mike Sargent, spokesperson for the Agassiz RCMP, said on Jan. 29, officers recovered a stolen vehicle on Esplanade Avenue and arrested a man believed to be associated with the stolen vehicle and other thefts in the area.

“Police are urging residents to continue to report suspicious activity in the community,” Sargent stated.
