Agassiz RCMP officer honoured for outstanding traffic enforcement

Agassiz RCMP Const. William Levesques has been given the Outstanding Efforts in Traffic Law Enforcement” award from the BC Association of Chiefs of Police.

Agassiz RCMP’s Constable William Levesques has been recognized for his exceptional dedication to traffic enforcement, receiving the prestigious “Outstanding Efforts in Traffic Law Enforcement” award from the BC Association of Chiefs of Police.

This award, given to only one officer in the province each year, highlights Cst. Levesques’ commitment to keeping roadways safe.

 In 2023 alone, Cst. Levesques issued 373 violation tickets, served 47 Notice and Orders for vehicle non-compliance, removed 52 impaired drivers from the road, and charged 18 prohibited drivers, ensuring their vehicles were impounded. His proactive efforts have made a significant impact on road safety in Agassiz and surrounding areas.

 “Traffic safety is a top priority for the Agassiz RCMP”,  said Sergeant Andy Lot, Detachment Commander. “I’m incredibly proud of Cst. Levesques’ dedication and outstanding achievements in keeping our roads safe. I encourage the public to slow down, obey speed limits, and never drive impaired or while prohibited. We will continue running enforcement projects to ensure public safety and remain proactive in keeping our community safe.”
