CELEBRATING 125: Celebratory anniversary calendar released

Photos look back on District of Kent’s past

Pictures are said to be worth 1,000 words, but pictures celebrating the 125th anniversary of the District of Kent are worth so much more.

The Agassiz-Harrison Museum, devoted volunteers and local photographer Andrea Chapman have all collaborated to create a celebratory calendar in honour of the district’s 125th anniversary. Titled “District of Kent: Celebrating 125 years, 1895-2020 Then and Now,” this calendar features photos from the district’s past and present, a list of special events throughout the milestone year, carefully curated historical information and more.

A number of people made this calendar possible, including museum manager and curator Lindsay Foreman, who digitized the historical images, the 125th Anniversary Planning Committee lent their ideas and support and Bev Kennedy helped choose images, develop content and lay the calendar out.
