Voters have until April 22, eastern time, to apply for early voting.

Those hoping to vote early in the federal election have until April 22 to apply for a special ballot.

Early voting is now available through either mailing in, or dropping off, a special ballot. According to Elections Canada, voters can apply online to vote by mail at www.elections.ca. Those intending to vote at their local office can also pick up a special ballot there.

"Once you apply to vote by special ballot, you can't change your mind and vote at advance polls or on election day," Elections Canada stated on their website.

Completed ballots, including those mailed, must be received by April 28.

For the Chilliwack-Hope riding, ballots can be dropped off at the Elections Canada office at 9214 Mary Street. For this election so far, residents will be able to vote for one of five candidates for the riding: incumbent Mark Strahl (Conservative), Teri Westerby (NDP), Salina Derish (Green), Jeff Galbraith (PPC), Zeeshan Khan (Liberal).
