Chilliwack RCMP officials are looking for witnesses to a motor vehicle incident on the south end of Boundary Road that killed a pedestrian on Monday night (Feb. 17).

They have identified the vehicle but are seeking anyone who has not yet spoken to an officer.

"Despite lifesaving efforts, a male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene," said Sgt. Ryan Dauphinee of the Chilliwack RCMP.

It was just after 9 p.m. on Feb. 17 when Chilliwack RCMP front line officers and general investigative officers, with assistance from the Abbotsford Police Department, responded to a report of a pedestrian struck.

The incident was in the 3500 block of Boundary Road, which straddles the city boundaries between Chilliwack and Abbotsford.

"Investigators have identified the vehicle involved and the investigation remains ongoing," said the RCMP officer, but the vehicle type or colour is not being released.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) will be contributing to the investigation.

“Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased in their time of mourning,” said Dauphinee.

Anyone with information who has not yet to spoken to police is asked to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611.
