Locals may have noticed that the Harrison Hot Springs Public Mineral Pool has been closed for more than a week now – first shutting its doors on Jan. 20 – due to regular maintenance, with the closure still expected to last a little while longer.

According to the Harrison Hot Springs Resort, the exact date of when the public mineral pool will become available again is still a bit up in the air.

"Our estimated day for re-opening is Feb. 7 or possibly the 8th," said the resort. "We don't quite have that information yet, they're still over there working hard to clean it up and make it nicer."

While this work is being done, Harisson and Agassiz residents aren't completely cut off from their pool time, with the Harrison Hot Springs Resort opening up its pools to locals.

From Monday to Thursday, the pools are open between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m., and between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Friday to Sunday, with residents of Harisson and Agassiz able to access these pools by bringing proof of residency to the resort.

This closure comes on the heels of a very controversial move that saw the popular Hobo Hot Springs dismantled in October, despite the proper permission from the Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship not being granted.
