McCombs Bridge North will remain closed for another few weeks as construction continues in Harrison Hot Springs.

Motorists in Harrison Hot Springs will have to wait a bit longer to cross the McCombs Drive bridge.

Village officials recently announced that the full closure of McCombs Bridge North will remain closed until about the end of April to address an "expanded scope of work" to remove the old bridge and complete environmental recommendations.

Detours will be in effect along McCombs Drive between Naismith Avenue and Miami River Drive. Drivers are encouraged to use Hot Springs Road and Lillooet Avenue to access the areas north of the bridge until construction is complete.

Village crews have moved the utility lines from the area and were in the process of repairing the abutments – or structural supports at the ends of the bridge – when the scope of work expanded. It was originally estimated the work would be complete sometime this week.

The McCombs Bridge North project is funded through the Growing Communities Fund. Council approved the work in February and the utility work was complete in mid-March. A sewer line breach in 2023 prompted swift, temporary repairs before this project began, which would put permanent repairs in place.
