One person was flown to hospital following a single-vehicle crash along Harrison Lake on Sunday (June 26).

According to Agassiz RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Mike Sargent, a motorcycle operator lost control of their vehicle along Rockwell Drive and slid into a ditch at about 3 p.m. on Sunday. The woman was airlifted to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Sargent said the cause of the collision does not appear to involve alcohol but the incident remains under investigation at this time.

This marked the second major single-vehicle crash along Rockwell Drive in about a month’s time. On May 30, a driver was rescued from Harrison Lake after he lost control of his vehicle and sank into Harrison Lake. The driver was in stable condition after it took rescue crews about half an hour to extract him from the submerged car. The vehicle was removed from the lake soon after.

The RCMP investigated that crash, examining medical reasons as a possible cause.
