The outgoing mayor and council left a lasting gift to the village as the new administration takes up the mantle.
The 2018-2022 council members personally funded two new horseshoe pits in Spring Park as a legacy gift to the community. The cost of the project was about $400 total with the village giving $250 in in-kind labour. The horseshoe pit can be a year-round activity in Spring Park. There is no need for residents or visitors to bring their own horseshoes as there are horseshoes stored on site.
Spring Park will see further improvements in 2023, including a permanent year-round washroom, a covered picnic area and an all-weather ping-pong table, all of which were approved by council earlier this year.

Former councillors Gerry Palmer and Ray Hooper did not run in the 2022 election. Samantha Piper, also a former council member, ran for mayor but lost to Ed Wood. Couns. Michie Vidal and Leo Facio were elected to council with Facio transitioning from mayor to councillor.
