If you see smoke in Popkum on Tuesday (April 1) evening, it is likely only a drill.
The Popkum Fire Department is conducting several mini training exercises in the community on Tuesday evening between 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Firefighters will be running through practice for hazardous material scenarios.
Residents may see fire trucks, simulated smoke and emergency personnel in the community.
"Please be assured that this is only a drill, and there is no cause for concern," the fire department stated. "We encourage members of the community to observe the training from a safe distance."
