The Popkum fire hall is set to add three vehicle bays and more training and office space as the FVRD looks for quotes.

The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) is looking to expand the Popkum Fire Hall to meet the growing community's needs.

According to a request for quotations from the FVRD, the current fire hall is about 40 years old and is due for "significant expansion." The plan is to build a 5,000-square-foot, two-storey fire hall addition that will consist of two bays, a main floor and a training room as well as office space. The upcoming project will also include renovations to the current fire hall.

The current building has three bays for fire engines and vehicles, and was renovated in the early 90s to provide for office aind training space.

The request for quotations closed on Friday, Feb. 7.
