The local RCMP detachment is taking precautions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an effort to “flatten the curve” and curtail any further cases, the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment – which includes the Agassiz RCMP – is taking the following measures until further notice.

Front counter fingerprinting service to the public will not be provided. However, those under court order to provide fingerprints remain mandated to attend their local office to fulfill the order.

The RCMP asks those exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms – fever, coughing or trouble breathing – to refrain from coming in to police service buildings. Instead, they are urged to call non-emergency assistance; the Agassiz phone number is 604-796-2211.

The RCMP indicated there would be no effect on emergency services, 9-1-1 calls or calls to non-emergency lines.
