The polls are open for eight more hours as voters cast their ballots.

Based on conversations The Observer has had with some local candidates, there are mixed emotions as polls slowly draw to a close.

Harrison mayoral hopeful John Allen said he feels good about the effort he’s made, even if he loses.

“A lot of people have learned more about Harrson and all candidates now want my Harrison Forest Park project,” he said. “So, if I lose, at least I offered to help.”

“I hope our residents take a few moments of their day and vote for the new council,” she added.

Most candidates who responded indicated they voted ahead of time.
