70 per cent of people aged 12 and older in Agassiz-Harrison have been vaccinated

More than 80 per cent of adults aged 50 and older have been vaccinated, as of June 10

Agassiz-Harrison has officially hit a COVID vaccine milestone.

According to June 10 data from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), 70 per cent of people in Agassiz-Harrison aged 12 and older have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. 71 per cent of people aged 18 and older across the local health area have been vaccinated, and 82 per cent of adults aged 50 and older have received at least one dose.

Across Canada, as of Tuesday, June 15, federal officials announced more than 74 per cent of people aged 12 and up have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Also as of Tuesday, nearly 76 per cent of British Columbian adults have received at least one dose, and more than 4 million doses of Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been distributed, more than 600,000 of which were second doses.

Vaccine registration and appointment booking is available for everyone aged 12 and older. The Fraser Health website still lists one vaccination clinic location for Agassiz-Harrison – The Agassiz Agricultural Hall at 6800 Pioneer Avenue. Fraser Health has announced a walk-in COVID19 vaccine clinic at the Agricultural Hall today, June 16, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. for those receiving their first dose.
