The District of Kent is considering allowing secondary dwelling units. Council read a zoning amendment three times on Monday night, and set a public hearing regarding the matter for July 21 at 7 p.m. in council chambers.
Secondary dwellings, including carriage houses, coach houses, in-law suites or garden suites, would need to be smaller than the primary residence, and only one of two dwellings on a property could be considered a rental. Secondary dwellings would also have to be hooked up to the district's water system.
