Agassiz RCMP ask for help to identify suspects in Popkum thefts

Agassiz RCMP are asking for the public’s help to identify two suspects after a string of backyard thefts.

According to the RCMP press release, police noticed an increase in complaints from homeowner along Dyer Road and Royalwood Boulevard in Popkum between Jan. 10 and Jan. 16.

The police investigation turned up surveillance footage of two suspects, and a vehicle linked to the alleged thefts.

One is Caucasian woman dressed in a camouflage jacket over a hoodie, wearing black pants and accompanied by a white dog on a chain. The second individual is indistinct in the footage, but was seen next to a four-door pickup truck.

“As RCMP continue to our investigation we are reaching out to the public for assistance to identify the people in the security images,” Sgt. Mike Sargent said.

“We also remind residents to ensure doors and gates are locked at night and immediately report unusual activity to the police.”
