Normally the crash comes after the caffeine.
On Sunday (Feb. 12) in Mission, a 25-year-old driver mistook the gas pedal for the brake when she was parking her car and crashed into a Tim Hortons.
Mission Fire Rescue Service, Mission RCMP and BC Ambulance Service attended the call shortly after 12 p.m. on Sunday at the Tim Hortons at 32471 Lougheed Hwy in Mission.
No one was injured after the car crashed through the front window of the restaurant and knocked over a table and seats inside. Police say impairment was not a factor, and the driver remained at the scene to cooperate.
According to Mission RCMP, the damage to the building looked significant but the majority was to a window frame and a seating area. There were no indications that any structural damage occurred.
The Tim’s drive-thru stayed open while first responders remained on the scene. The vehicle was removed from the building and left in the care of the building owners and the RCMP. An investigation is ongoing.
