The Chilliwack Cultural Centre announced it will be postponing many events at its venue as a result of the provincewide ban on gatherings of 250 or more people to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

The public statement was posted on the centre’s website on Friday.

The following concerts and events have been postponed at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre and ticket sales for them have been suspended:

March 17 – The Lonely

March 21 – Best of the Fest Tour – Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival

March 22 – The Bay City Rollers

March 25 – The Celtic Tenors

March 27 – Selfie

April 1 – Colin James

April 4 – Music & Dance Festival – Music Honours Performance

April 8 – The Australian Bee Gees Show

April 11 – TEDx Chilliwack

“We may expect to see further postponements soon. These postponements are currently limited to those events that have audiences of more than 250 patrons, but this may change at anytime,” said Michael Cade, artistic and managing director.

Once a date has been rescheduled for a specific show, current ticket holders will be contacted. If the rescheduled date does not work with their schedule, the ticket money will be moved into their account for future shows, events, or classes.

“Events that will have audiences of less than 250 patrons will continue as scheduled unless they are suspended by the artists or we are directed otherwise by the Fraser Health Authority, the City of Chilliwack, British Columbia Government, or Canadian Federal Government.”
