COVID-19 rates fall as vaccine boosters roll out in Agassiz-Harrison

Nearly 40 per cent of 70-plus people received third dose, BCCDC says

COVID-19 rates in Agassiz-Harrison continue to decline as boosters are quickly being administered to the area’s most vulnerable people.

As of Nov. 18, the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) has updated their vaccine rate data, adding a 70-plus age group who have received their third COVID-19 vaccine. The group saw a significant jump in just four days, from 33 per cent receiving the booster shot to 38 per cent. Nearly all local vaccine rate changes rise by about 1 or 2 per cent per week.

The BCCDC has recorded four more cases of COVID-19 in the local health area between Nov. 14 and 20. This is down two cases from the previous week’s total of six. The total number of COVID-19 cases in 2021 is 378 for an average of about 8.2 cases per week.
