COVID-19 cases remained steady for Agassiz-Harrison toward the close of February.
The B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) reported eight new cases of COVID-19 between Feb. 20 and Feb. 26 in the local health area; there were eight cases reported during the previous week as well. This brings the year’s total to 188 cases of COVID-19 in Agassiz-Harrison.
This time last year, the BCCDC recorded 11 new cases of COVID-19 in Agassiz-Harrison.
There have been no new outbreaks or exposure events reported in the local health area this past week.

As of Feb 28, the BCCDC has added booster rate data for the 50-plus population in each local health area in the province. After two weeks of little activity in terms of local vaccination rates, vaccinations are going up in younger people and among older people getting boosters. Changes are highlighted in bold:
Ages 5-11: 37 per cent partially vaccinated
Ages 5 +: 78 per cent fully vaccinated (84 per cent partially vaccinated)
Ages 12 to 17: 68 per cent fully vaccinated (73 per cent partially vaccinated)
Ages 18+: 84 per cent fully vaccinated (88 per cent partially vaccinated)
Ages 18 to 49: 77 per cent fully vaccinated (83 per cent partially vaccinated)
Ages 50+ : 89 per cent fully vaccinated (91 per cent partially vaccinated)
Age 50+ with booster: 71 per cent
Ages 70+ with booster: 80 per cent
