After the worst local COVID-19 spike of 2021, Agassiz-Harrison numbers have settled back down again.
According to the latest data released by the B.C. Centre for Disease Control, the Agassiz-Harrison local health area saw only three new cases of COVID-19 between April 18 and 24. This is a significant drop from 20 cases recorded the previous week, and brings 2021’s total up to 137 cases.
There have been no exposures in local schools from Agassiz to Hope for more than three months. There was one recent public exposure event at Sasquatch Mountain Resort. The resort is currently closed to the public, and exposure was limited to those who attended the site after hours, went to gatherings, stayed in staff housing or went to a staff ski day on April 4 and 5.

As of Monday, April 26, there have been more than 300 people vaccinated per day at the Agassiz Agricultural Hall during their weekly COVID-19 vaccine clinics. As of Thursday, April 29, anyone aged 18 or older (born in 2003 or earlier) may now register for a COVID-19 vaccination appointment.
