End of Lockdown and search at Mountain Institution

Visits to medium-security prison were suspended until search completed

The lockdown put in place at Mountain Institution has ended and an exceptional search has been completed.  The institution has resumed its normal operations.

Visits to the institution have resumed.

On July 9, 2015, at about 4:35, a lockdown was put in place at Mountain Institution, a medium security federal institution, to enable staff members to conduct an exceptional search.

The search was ordered to ensure the safety and security of the institution, its staff and inmates. Normal operations will resume as soon as it is considered safe to do so.
