Five new cases of COVID-19 in Agassiz-Harrison in the past week: BCCDC

Case numbers have remained fairly low in the past five weeks

The B.C. Centre for Disease Control reported five new cases of COVID-19 in Agassiz-Harrison between March 6 and 12. Cases have remained steadily low for February and the first half of March. At this time last year, 16 cases of COVID-19 were reported in the local health area.

Thus far this year, there have been 197 cases of COVID-19 in Agassiz-Harrison.

There have been no recent reported exposure events or outbreaks in Agassiz-Harrison schools since December. There are no vaccine clinics scheduled to take place in Agassiz or Harrison Hot Springs in the near future.

Local vaccination rates have not changed since the March 7 update:

Ages 5-11: 37 per cent partially vaccinated

Ages 5 +: 79 per cent fully vaccinated (84 per cent partially vaccinated)

Ages 12 to 17: 68 per cent fully vaccinated (73 per cent partially vaccinated)

Ages 18+: 84 per cent fully vaccinated (88 per cent partially vaccinated)

Ages 18 to 49: 77 per cent fully vaccinated (83 per cent partially vaccinated)

Ages 50+ : 89 per cent fully vaccinated (91 per cent partially vaccinated)

Age 50+ with booster: 71 per cent

Ages 70+ with booster: 80 per cent
