Four new cases of COVID-19 in Agassiz-Harrison: BCCDC

COVID-19 rates have been near or below average throughout February, BCCDC reports

Agassiz-Harrison COVID-19 numbers have dropped again to close the books on February’s statistics.

The B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) has recorded four new cases of COVID-19 in Agassiz-Harrison between Feb. 27 and March 5. This time last year, there were 10 cases of COVID-19.

There has been a total of 192 cases of COVID-19 so far in 2022.

There are no local community outbreaks, and there are no reported exposure events or outbreaks in Agassiz-Harrison schools.

Vaccination rates continue to gradually climb in the local health area. The following are local vaccination rates as of March 7; changes are highlighted in bold:

Ages 5-11: 37 per cent partially vaccinated

Ages 5 +: 79 per cent fully vaccinated (84 per cent partially vaccinated)

Ages 12 to 17: 68 per cent fully vaccinated (73 per cent partially vaccinated)

Ages 18+: 84 per cent fully vaccinated (88 per cent partially vaccinated)

Ages 18 to 49: 77 per cent fully vaccinated (83 per cent partially vaccinated)

Ages 50+ : 89 per cent fully vaccinated (91 per cent partially vaccinated)

Age 50+ with booster: 71 per cent

Ages 70+ with booster: 80 per cent
