An anti-racism rally will be rolling through Chilliwack on July 18.
The event, Free Wheelin’ march for anti-racism organized by Abbotsford Sentinel Association of Friends for Equality (SAFE), was originally supposed to take place Saturday, June 27 but it was postponed due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in the Fraser Health region.
The event is now scheduled for Saturday, July 18.
Free Wheelin’ march for anti-racism welcomes folks on bikes, scooters, skateboards, roller skates and even on foot to come out and support the Black Lives Matter movement.
This is the third rally Abbotsford SAFE is hosting. The other two events were held earlier this month in Abbotsford.

People will be gathering in downtown Chilliwack at Central Community Park at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 18. From there, they roll to the Chilliwack Coliseum and skate park. (See map below)
“We are a group of white and white-passing individuals, and we never intend to speak for BIPOC, only to amplify their voices and to create spaces where they feel safe and supported,” Willow Dennison-Hardy, one of the organizers said.
The event is also a fundraiser for Black Connections, a club that started at the University of the Fraser Valley Abbotsford campus in 2014.
Money collect for raffle items that day will go to Black Connections.
