UPDATE: Power restored to Harrison, Kent residents after windstorm

More than 100 homes on Rockwell Drive have been without power since 11:30 a.m.

UPDATE: Power was restored just before 1 p.m., although the cause of the outage is still under investigation.

More than 100 houses in Harrison Hot Springs and the District of Kent are without power.

According to BC Hydro, power went out to 115 homes on Rockwell Drive around 11:30 a.m. today (Friday).

Although the cause of the outage is still under investigation, heavy winds across the Lower Mainland have knocked out power to a number of homes in Coquitlam, Burnaby and Surrey.

Crews are on route to restore power to Rockwell Drive, and are expected to arrive around 1 p.m.
