The Harrison Hot Springs Official Community Plan needs new feedback.

Village officials recently announced via their civic engagement website GetIntoItHarrison.ca that the OCP is due to be updated following a complete review of its contents, launching a brief survey to garner community input.

The OCP is a standard document outlining guidelines for possible future development and growth based on residents’ plans for change, a list of 10 goals and other priorities. Such priorities include location and type of residences, zoning policies, social needs and wants as well as environmental preservation.

The GetIntoItHarrison survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. There is no age limit to give feedback. Survey questions include basic demographic information, the relevance of the OCP’s current goals, a prompt to suggest future goals and more.

Surveys will be accepted until Feb. 28.

The current OCP has been amended 12 times since its creation 15 years ago; there is no set regulations in terms of how long and OCP must remain in effect and it is considered a living document that is periodically reviewed and changed to reflect new input.
