Highway Alert: Snow and icy east from Hope, west into Valley mainly clear

Environment Canada warning of 10 to 15 centimetres in Fraser Canyon and Coquihalla

Drivers heading east on Highway 3, Coquihalla and through the Fraser Canyon will see snowy conditions along the major routes, westbound driving conditions are mostly clear.

Environment Canada issued a weather warning this morning, with 15 centimetres of snow expected for Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton and the Coquihalla from Hope to Merritt. Around 10 centimetres are expected to fall in the Fraser Canyon.

Highway 3 is already seeing compact snow and slippery sections in the Manning Park area, DriveBC warns. Highway 5 is seeing icy sections around Yale and reaching the Coquihalla Summitt compact snow and icy sections, DriveBC warns.

Heading west, conditions looks clear this mornig except for compact snow on Highway 1 around Laidlaw and delays on Highway 7 at the Agassiz Bridge.

Further east more snow was forecast yesterday, this morning Environment Canada ended these warnings for Vernon, West Kootenay, the Coquihalla from Merritt to Kamloops and Highway 3 from Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass.
