The Fraser Cascade school district (SD 78) has called its first snow day of the year, although most other schools across the Lower Mainland are going on their third snow day; Chilliwack is on their second snow day.

In a tweet sent early Wednesday morning, the school district said all schools would be closed and no buses would be running.

The University of the Fraser Valley also cancelled all classes at The Hope Centre, but reopened all other campuses, buildings, and centres at noon under winter weather conditions.

And although Weather Canada issued a snowfall warning for the Fraser Valley yesterday that ran into the night, it’s predicting the weather will clear by this evening, and that tomorrow will be sunny with a high of plus 1-degree Celsius, so this may be the only snow day for SD 78.
