New nomination location in Chilliwack announced by BC Conservatives

A change of location for the BC Conservative nomination meeting in Chilliwack-Hope was announced Monday.

A change of location for the BC Conservative nomination meeting in Chilliwack-Hope was announced Monday.

The Jan. 17 meeting will now be held at the Best Western in Chilliwack, not the Cultus Lake Community Hall as previously announced. The meeting starts at 7 p.m.

It appears that John Martin will be acclaimed the party's candidate for the byelection to fill the seat vacated by retiring MLA Barry Penner. No date for the byelection has been set.

Party Leader John Cummins visited Chilliwack and Hope in mid-December in preparation for contest, which will determine whether the riding remains in the BC Liberal fold.

Cummins will be guest speaker at the nomination meeting.
