Harrison residents will get a chance to learn a little more about the proposed marina and medium-density residential development for 102 Rockwell Drive.

On Friday, April 12, Kerkhoff Construction will be hosting an open house at the Harrison Beach Hotel to give people a better idea of what the development company is planning for the gravel lot.

“The reason we’re having the open house is just to provide the public with some information on the concept for what we’re thinking about in their community,” Clifton Crawford, construction and development manager for the company, said.

“So we just wanted to show some of our ideas, how we think the project might help the community … and just to answer some questions and let people get to know us a little bit.”

He said there would be presentation boards going over different aspects of the development, including the conceptual design and how the development might fit into the community.

The open house idea comes after a suggestion from Harrison council on March 18, when residents were heavily questioning some of the design choices of the proposed development.

“It seemed like a lot of people were asking questions that come a little farther down the road of the development process,” Crawford said. He hopes the open house will help people understand what parts of the development are under discussion now, and what parts will be up for debate later.

The open house will begin around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 12, in the Chehalis Room of the Harrison Beach Hotel. The event will likely go until 8:30 p.m.
