There will be a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Hope on Sunday, Oct. 17.
The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hope secondary school, at 444 Stuart St.
It is a walk-in clinic, so no appointments are needed. Vaccines are now available for people aged 12 and up.
Anyone eligible for their first, second or third doses can attend. And people are asked to bring their personal health number and photo ID, if possible.
Transportation to and from the clinic is available through: www.fraserhealth.ca/bookaride. Requests for a ride must be submitted before 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15.
Hope has been lagging behind the rest of the Fraser Valley, along with Chilliwack and Agassiz-Harrison, for vaccination rates. Pop-up clinics are planned by Fraser Health to help boost numbers in areas where rates are low and/or transmission is high.
From Oct. 5 to Oct. 11, Chilliwack had the highest rate of infection in the Lower Mainland, at 34 daily cases per 100,000, though there was a slight decrease from the previous week.
Hope had the second highest rate in the region at 30 daily cases per 100,000, spiking up from 19 the previous week.
