Rain or no rain, holiday spirit in Agassiz-Harrison is determined to shine through.

Tourism Harrison has announced that registration has been extended for the Harrison River Valley Light Tour until Tuesday, Nov. 30.

Competitors from three areas – Agassiz and Seabird Island, Harrison Hot Springs and Rockwell Drive and Harrison Mills, Mount Woodside and Hemlock Valley – will compete to win prizes while showing off a dazzling display of holiday cheer.

Voting on the displays still takes place between Dec. 7 and Jan. 3 with winners announced on Jan. 5.

Registration forms are still available online at tourismharrison.com.

The annual Lights by the Lake festival in Harrison Hot Springs has been delayed until further notice due to local flooding and states of emergency. However, displays along Harrison Lake are still under construction and, as of Monday (Nov. 29), should be complete by Saturday (Dec. 4).

Lights by the Lake features light displays highlighting local wildlife, the legendary Sasquatch and the promenade surrounding Harrison Lake. Displays are typically lit from dusk to 11 p.m. and light up a full kilometre of lakeside walkways.
