Fallen branches and split trees in Pioneer Park demonstrate the effects of the storm that hit Agassiz.

Remnants of turbulent weather remain as debris from trees, and yes, even smashed out windows can be seen on the streets of Agassiz.

Glass from the back door at Cheam Sushi was shattered after it had frozen over and was blasted by fierce winds.

It was really quite amazing to see it, and lots of people have phoned in to ask about it,” said Cheam server Grace Kozier of the cardboard covering the door, visible streetside to curious onlookers, and passerby's after it had blown out.

Branches from the cherry trees in Pioneer Park and elsewhere in the community have fallen and are being tended by Public Works crews as a mix of rain, leaves, twigs, mud and everything in between have contributed to mucky streets and windswept conditions.

Our weather was challenging to say the least, but our crew was well prepared for it. At times like this it’s hard to meet everyone’s needs, but by in large most people were satisfied with the District’s response. There were a few complaints but there were many more comments that were both understanding and positive,” Mayor John Van Laerhoven told The Observer.
