Sasquatch chair de-ropes at Hemlock

Ski hill management says chair will be fixed before opening day

Management at Hemlock Valley Resort says a problem with one of their main chairs should be fixed before they open in December.

Kevin Bourdin, general manager of the ski hill, confirmed on Friday morning that the Sasquatch chair de-roped this week. But he added that they are working on repairs and are hoping for the hill to be fully opened by Dec. 7.

"There is no question it will be back in service for the year," Bourdin said Friday.

There were no injuries in the incident.

The Sasquatch Triple chair is one of four lifts on the hill, and leads to several intermediate runs on the slopes to the right of the lodge.

Hemlock Valley Resort, located past Chehalis near Harrison Mills, currently has about 38 cm of snow at the lodge.
