A second day of hot temperatures is rippling across the Fraser Valley.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement Monday (June 21) for valley communities from Abbotsford to Hope, including Chilliwack, Mission and Agassiz-Harrison.
The daytime maximum high temperature, for much of the Fraser Valley is set to be 32 degrees again today, similar to Sunday’s record-breaking maximum of 32.4 degrees Celsius in Chilliwack.
Warm and dry conditions will be hanging around on the South Coast all week building to Saturday.
“Daytime maximum temperatures will remain five to 10 degrees above seasonal today and Tuesday at locations away from the immediate coast.”
However the ridge of high pressure associated with the hotter temperatures will move inland late Tuesday, bringing slightly cooler air to the region mid-week, with temps in the late-20s. That ridge will rebuild from Thursday onward with more dry and hot conditions through the weekend.
