Two new cases of COVID-19 for Agassiz-Harrison

There’s an average of 5.5 local cases of COVID per week for 2021

Agassiz-Harrison has recorded two new cases of COVID-19 in the past week.

According to the latest from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), Agassiz-Harrison has recorded 171 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the year, averaging approximately From Jan. 2020 to Jan. 2021, there were 95 cases of COVID-19 reported.

July was the lightest month in terms of recorded COVID cases this year with only three total. Agassiz-Harrison starts out the month having the lowest number of new cases in Fraser Health from Aug. 1 to Aug. 7.

As of Aug. 9, 76 per cent of eligible Agassiz-Harrison residents have received at least their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine (no change since last update). 78 per cent of people aged 18 and older have received at least one dose (up 1 per cent from last week). The 18-49 demographic also saw a slight boost, moving up to 65 per cent vaccinated (up 1 per cent from last week). 86 per cent of Agassiz-Harrison residents over the age of 50 have received at least one dose. (No change since last update.

Second dose administration 67 per cent of eligible Agassiz-Harrison residents have been fully vaccinated (up 1 per cent). 69 per cent of those aged 18 and older are fully vaccinated (up 1 per cent). 51 per cent of Agassiz-Harrison residents have been fully vaccinated (up 2 per cent from last week). 81 per cent of residents aged 50 and older are fully vaccinated (up 1 per cent).
