Van Dongen joins BC Conservative campaign in Chilliwack-Hope byelection

MLA John van Dongen to appear at the official opening of the BC Conservative campaign office Saturday.

  • Mar. 30, 2012 11:00 a.m.

MLA John van Dongen will make his first appearance in the Chilliwack-Hope byelection Saturday at the official opening of the BC Conservative campaign office.

BC Conservative Leader John Cummins is also scheduled to join van Dongen and candidate John Martin at the 1:30 p.m. event.

Martin’s campaign office is located at 45609 Luckakuck Way, the former Blockbuster video rental store.

Last week, van Dongen quit the BC Liberal party to join the BC Conservatives. He remains the MLA for Abbotsford South.

van Dongen said the byelection had nothing to do with his decision to leave the BC Liberals, but he added that he would consider campaigning with Martin in the Chilliwack-Hope byelection.
