Wind leads to small power outages in Chilliwack Monday morning

A windy morning in the Fraser Valley led to a number of small power outages across Chilliwack.

After 9:30 a.m., there was an outage in the Hodgins Avenue and Ashwell Road area affecting 72 BC Hydro customers. A crew was assigned and the outage was under investigation by 11:30 a.m.

Shortly after that, 65 customers in Greendale near Keith Wilson Road and the Vedder Canal were without power, again a crew was assigned and that outage is under investigation.

Fewer than five households in the 47800 block of Ballam Road were without power as of 10:26 a.m. due to a wire down on the road. A BC Hydro crew was onsite at 11:30 a.m.

Across the Fraser River in Harrison Mills, 247 customers were without power as of 9:45 a.m. with crews on their way.
