December 1, 1929 - March 4, 2021
With deep sadness we announce Anne's passing on March 4, 2021 after having been admitted to Chilliwack Hospital several weeks earlier with recurring health issues and acquiring COVID while there.
Anne was born in New Westminster, BC on December 1, 1929. With her father, she moved to Norway to take over the family farm when her uncle died and she stayed in Norway for 14 years, eventually marrying and returning to BC.
Anne was predeceased by her son Stolie who died of ALS. She is survived by Henry, her loving and devoted husband of 39 years, and by her children Douglas (Lisa), David (Tracy), Steven, and Annette, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Anne treasured her Norwegian roots and kept the connection strong through her affiliation with the Sons of Norway Club and numerous visits to Norway. Henry joined her on three of her ten trips to Norway and they travelled across Canada four times including once by train.
She was a talented artist and a member of the Agassiz-Harrison Monday Painters group. Anne took special joy in the beautiful clematis and rose gardens that she and Henry nurtured every year and she was especially proud to have their gardens highlighted one year in the Agassiz-Harrison Observer.
She frequently reminded Henry that "flowers don't talk back!" She enjoyed floor curling and other social activities at the Kent-Harrison Senior Centre (Friendship House), donating several pieces of her artwork for fundraising events.
She was also a very good cook and enjoyed preserving fruit from the several fruit trees in their garden. She had a life-long love of cats and special among those who shared their space with her, are Prim and Proper who are missing her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will occur at a later date.
If so desired donations in Anne's memory may be made to the ALS Society of Canada or any other charity of your choice.
