With heavy hearts and great sorrow, we must now inform that our mother, after a hard and determined fight with cancer, passed away with family at her side on December 6, 2017. Her huge heart and unwavering love of family is the legacy she leaves for us. She was the nicest person you could ever meet. She loved well and was so well loved in return.
She was predeceased by her children's father, Norman Olson and by her partner of 44 years, Richard French.
Mom is survived by her children: Allan (Elaine), Eleanor (Brad), Larry (Doreen), Beverly (Jim), Joyce (Simon) and by her stepchildren: Teresa (Ken), Luke (Maureen), Brenda (Jim), George (Margaret), Delmar, Monika (Lloyd), 27 grandchildren, and 35 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brothers: Jim (Helen), Bob (Irene), Wayne (Shirley) and many nieces and nephews.
Mom was a very resourceful and resilient person her entire life. The hands of this hospitable warm person never stopped serving. Her self-taught love of sewing, knitting, crocheting and quilting are gifts she happily taught to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Our family will remember Mom in many ways including each time we wrap ourselves in a blanket or put on a pair of PJ's she made, play a game of crib or can some pickled beets using her special recipe. All of us will miss her dearly. She will never be forgotten.
A memorial service was held December 16, 2017, 1:00 pm at the Agassiz United Church, 6860 Lougheed Hwy., Agassiz, B.C.
