September 19, 1929 - December 25, 2020
On December 25, 2020, at Cascade Hospice in Chilliwack B.C., Elizabeth Ryan peacefully passed on to be with her Lord.
Elizabeth was born on September 19, 1929 in Calgary, AB. As one of four siblings, she cherished their family's Sunday picnics in the mountains near her Exshaw home. In her late teens Elizabeth joined the Sisters of Charity of St. Louis.
Her passion for education was developed and fostered, and she became a beloved teacher wherever she was sent. Elizabeth wrapped up her pastoral work at St. Mary's Hospital in Vancouver, and in 1997 retired with lifelong friend Mary Ann Clancy to Agassiz, B.C. Here she continued her life of service through St. Anthony of Padua parish, where she remained an active and treasured member of the CWL.
Elizabeth was predeceased by brothers Frank, Clayton, and James Ryan. 'Aunt Betty' will be dearly missed by niece Rose (Tom) and nephews Mark (Gina) and Matt (Karen), as well as by great-nephew Sean and great-nieces Rachel, Natalie, Anna-Marie, and Janelle.
Elizabeth's life was one of faith and dedication. She was inspired by, and took a genuine interest in, every person she met. In her exemplary life she loved and was loved without conditions.
"This is what the Lord asks of you: only this, To act justly, To love tenderly, and To walk humbly With your God. - Micah 6:8
