Hazel Bergen passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Chilliwack, BC with her husband Arnold and her sister Jennifer by her side after a short but brave battle with cancer. She was 81 years young. Hazel was born in Normanton, West Yorkshire, England and was the oldest of a family of seven.
Hazel immigrated to Canada with her two sons, Mark & Tim on April 14th, 1966. It was in Merritt, BC that she met her husband Arnold in the Summer of 1967 and married on December 2nd, 1967.
The classiest of Ladies and the most generous person, Mum loved to cook for anyone that stopped by and always made all of her children's friends feel welcome in our home. Some words from friends who reached out to describe Hazel are Brave, Caring, Sweet, Kind, Lovely, a Bright Light, Amazing, Wonderful, Genuine, Infectious laugh, Remarkable, Awesome and yes, Hazel (our Mum) was all of these things and more.
Hazel is survived by her husband of 54 years, Arnold Bergen, sons Mark Wheeler, Tim Wheeler & Jason Bergen (Crystal), Daughters Dawn Bergen & Kim Murphy (Doug Snippa) Sister Jen Weusten (John), Brothers Phil Morgan (Debby) Clive Morgan (Lorraine) Chris Morgan (Karen) Grandchildren Dustin Wheeler Chris Wheeler (Erica), Braedon Wheeler, Joshua McIntyre (Julie) Jaclyn Crnkovic Tatum Murphy Maxim Murphy Sierra Bergen Montanna Bergen & Alexa Bergen. Great Grandchildren Emma & Avaline Wheeler.
Hazel (Mum) was predeceased by Parents Cliff & Ida Morgan, In-Laws Thomas and Katherine Bergen, Sisters Pat Wadeley & Margaret Golding.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Henderson's Funeral Home 45901 Victoria Avenue in Chilliwack BC at 11am on April 2nd, 2022.
