Henderika Roelina

Henderika Roelina Bouman passed away on July 24, 2008 at Chilliwack BC at age 75 years. Henny is survived by her children, Cynthia (Bill) Smith, Carmen (Randy) Norrish and Rissa (Chris) Wilson; grandchildren, Cristy (Shawn) LeCain, Paige, Stephen and Peyton Norrish; Danielle and Cameron Wilson; Timothy and Stephanie Smith and great granddaughter, Aneela LeCain. She was predeceased by her parents Auke and Tina Struiksma and her husband Marten Bouman.

Henny was born September 18, 1932 in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands, she was one of four sisters. Henny immigrated to Canada in 1958 and went to work at the Dupont Nylon Plant in Kingston, Ontario. In 1973, the family came to BC and settled in Agassiz as restaurant owners of the Chuckwagon Café. This later became known as the Hoek-van-Holland. In 1987 Henny went to work at the Harrison Hotel as a waitress and later as a hostess in the Copper Room. She loved her Bingo and floor curling at the friendship house.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Carol and Phil Boorman and Debbie and Alan Wiles for being there for Henny. If any so desire, memorial donations in lieu of flowers to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. A private family service will be held.
