With great sadness, we announce the passing of our friend, Gentleman Jim Harris. Born in Thessalon, ON, Jim moved to BC where he made many friends at his homes in Sunshine Valley, Hope, Agassiz and lastly Chilliwack.
Jim got his 'Gentleman Jim' nickname when he passed you on the cribbage scoreboard. He would always ask - with an impish smile - if you "felt the breeze" as his peg moved past yours to the finish line. He lived up to the name in real life as well.
Jim helped many as a volunteer driver for the cancer society. He also had many golfing friends in the area. Jim was an avid and regular cribbage player at Evergreen Hall, the O.A.P.O. on Tyson Rd. and the Anavets in Chilliwack. He was not above a small blackjack wager at the local casino.
Jim will be especially missed by his Agassiz friends. He floor-curled and played crib with them at Friendship House for many years.
Jim, remind Mike to "feel the breeze"!
So long Gentleman Jim!
