GORMLEY, John Joseph
John Gormley formally of Agassiz, peacefully passed away in his sleep at his home in Sooke, B.C., after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on November 16, 1936, in Ballinamore, in the County of Leitrim, Ireland. One of 13 children.
John-Joe was predeceased by his parents, 6 brothers and 3 sisters. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his devoted wife Yvonne of 49 years, his 6 children, Susan (Mark), Bernadette (Frank), Christine (Mike), Stephen (Lori), Michael (Tracey), and Pauline (Bill), as well as 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
John never gave up and through it all he continued to show his courage, strength and his will to live his life to the fullest while maintaining his sense of humor and quick wit till his final days.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 25th, 2008 at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 7237 Morrow Road Agassiz, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his remembrance to the Canadian Cancer Society.
