With great sadness, we announce the passing of our Mom, Mabel Olive Armstrong (nee: Pratt). Mabel is the last of a large family that came from Kent, England in the 1920's.
Mabel's family farmed at Islay, Alberta for many years and in 1938, they moved to Edmonton and spent many years there. In 1972 Mabel and Alan moved their family to Vancouver and later retired in Agassiz before moving to Chilliwack.
On July 7, 1989, Mabel and Alan lost their oldest son Jim. Her husband Alan predeceased Mabel on December 3, 2007. They were married 60 years. She was also predeceased by her parents James Henry and Isabella Helen Pratt, brothers Doug, Les, Jim, Alex, Alf and sisters Nora, Ciss, Pat and Peggy. Losing Dad and Jim, plus her own siblings took a heavy toll on Mom's life.
Mabel will be greatly missed and forever remembered by her children, Wendy (Cam), Wayne (Bev), Betty (Terry), Barb (Hank), Darrell (Suzanne), Patti (Rocco) and by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mabel was always there to listen and she had open arms for everyone. Her smile and her hugs were contagious. The Family wishes to thank all the Staff at Eden Care Centre for all their kindness, support and care shown to Mabel.
