It is with a heavy that we said good-bye to our resident and friend, Phoebe, one month before her 89th birthday.

She was a long-time resident of Harrison Hot Springs and moved there after her retirement from a Vancouver insurance company. As one of the original owners of a suite in The Cascades, she has lived there since 1992 together with her two datedness, Billy I (deceased) and Billy II who has now been adopted by one of Phoebe's long-time friends. Phoebe knew and loved every fog she met in Harrison.

She travelled much in her youth, on her own, or with her mother. Her independence was admirable. One of her joys was to attend concerts and operas in Vancouver and Seattle. She drove to Ashland many years after retirement to attend the Shakespeare Festival and visited the Oregon Coast.

Even though she remained single, she enjoyed visits from friends and always had a cup of tea and a biscuit for everyone. She was an excellent listener and conversationalist.

Phoebe is survived by a nephew in Scarborough and has asked that her ashes to be interred in the family plot in Ontario.
