January 1, 2006

KERR, Roger Allan

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Roger on January 1, 2006 at home in Agassiz. He is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of forty years; Noela, his three sons; Tom (Ruth), Bob (Val), and Paul, his grandchildren; Daniel, David, Justin and Carrissa, his sister; Marian, his daughter in law; Brenna, nieces and nephews, family and friends in Australia and many friends throughout B.C. Roger was born in Rosedale and attended elementary school in Rosedale and Junior and Senior Secondary school in Chilliwack. After high school he worked in road construction on Vancouver Island, moving on to logging road construction in Beaver Cove with his older brother Garth. He moved to the Kitimat area in early 1964 to begin his own company, building logging roads in the Kitimat area. He met his wife, Noela, in Terrace and married in 1965. For the rest of his working career, Roger built logging roads and bridges on the east coast area of Vancouver Island, in the Hope-Coquihalla area and Harrison Lake, while living in Agassiz for thirty years.

A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Church, 6860 Lougheed Hwy, Agassiz, B.C. In lieu of flowers, the family respectively requests that donations may be made to the B.C. Cancer Foundation.
