April 18, 1940 - September 29, 2018
Gord was born on April 18, 1940, to parents Sam and Lorraine Sciotti. He was the eldest of three, big brother to Don and Yvonne. Gord was raised in Agassiz, graduating with the class of 1958. He remained friends with many of his classmates, and they continue to meet each year on the Fall Fair weekend.

After graduation, he worked at the Good Year tire factory in Vancouver, and travelled around North America for a while, then settled back in Agassiz.

Gord married Ellen in 1970 and adopted her two sons, Rob and Rick. A year later they welcomed their daughter Rosanne. He coached the boys in little league and was in the front row for Rosanne's piano and dance recitals.

Gord was dedicated to Modern Tire Limited and was proud to provide honest and reliable service to anyone in need. He enjoyed working shoulder to shoulder with everyone employed by the various businesses over the years, and always led by example. He was well known for his sense of humour, cheerful grin and the ever present dangling cigarette.

In his time off, Gord enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, rock polishing, dancing with Ellen on Saturday nights, and stock car racing on Sunday afternoons. He enjoyed the competitive aspect of racing, but also the friendships with his fellow members of Kent Raceways and was proud to serve as President for several years. He also played 2-Pitch, and later on became an avid golfer. After retirement, he added floor curling at the Friendship House, Friday morning coffee at the A&W and Friday evening dinner at Bridal Falls, with the Agassiz table.

Gord had a few battles with cancer over the years and was hospitalized in September with pneumonia. He was supported during this time by many wonderful friends and family members. He passed away on September 29, 2018, in hospice care in Chilliwack.

Gord was pre-deceased by his son Rick in 2016 and wife Ellen in 2017. Gord is survived by his siblings, Don (Louine) Sciotti, Yvonne (Doug) Lacey, son Rob (Linda), daughters Rosanne (Wayne) and Leanne (Ryan), Denise, his grandchildren Christal (Scott), Nicki (Travis), Preston, Melissa (Shaun), Bobby, Shane (Ashley), Jamie, and great-grandchildren Khloe, Jayson, Brooke and Emma.

A memorial service will take place on Sunday, October 14th at 1:30 pm at the Agassiz Agricultural Hall located at 6800 Pioneer Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to KHSSCS (Friendship House}.
